This is the 5th in my polish pottery still life series ..  The 4th was sent in the canvas swap..  This is my most complicated pattern yet..  This is one of my most collected patterns..  I have a LOT in this pattern.. but I have soo many different ones..  I practically have my own store of the stuff!  LOL!!  I could set up still life's for years!!!!  Much to my husband's sorrow!!

Anyway..  this painting is acrylic on canvas board.. 11x14..  I did a canvas board b/c I'm signed up for a framing class in August..  I'll take this one in to the class and when I come out.. it will be matted and framed by me!! yeah!!!  for only $65.. which I think is a great cost!!

as always.. love any comments!
ps..  Unikat.. means "unique" in Polish.. these patterns are hand stamped and signed by one of the many artists that churns these out...

You are beginning to paint with a style all your own and I find myself liking your art more and more.

Heather --

I want this one, too!!!!! <grin>

It is gorgeous.  I am loving these pottery paintings SO much.  I really really think you need to have a gallery showing.  Have you taken them to any gallery to get feedback?  I know they take a chunk of the price...but if you just set a minimum that you want -- they'll sell them for more. Probably would charge 50% so they'll double the price.  But I still bet they'd sell...(DO NOT price them too cheaply.  For instance, this one...I'd say at LEAST $300 to you, if not $400.  If they sell it for $1,000, make sure you get your full percentage, not just the minimum you set.

How did you have the patience to paint all those little flowers.  I would make a suggestion....which you may or may not want to consider.   When painting a pattern on a round object, the pattern will usually follow the contour of the object....like these  click here

See how the horizontal 'stripe' ones -- the pattern seems to tilt up on each side and the individual images are larger at the point closest and seem smaller going away.  These are beautiful  click here

Hey look at this image...looks like polish pottery and it's in a museum and I don't think it's any where as nice as yours.  click here

LOVE IT Heather ! the pattern is great.

Don't mind criticism,if its untrue,disregard it.
if its unfair,keep from irritation.
if its ignorant,smile.
if its justified,learn from it.

Thanks VJ!!!!  woo hoo!! what a nice thing to say!

maybe I should go in there and curve the pattern a little... I did do that in the spout area..

I'm still trying to weave this paintings in to build up my series.. You have my 4th.. and yours was the first time trying a more complicated pattern!..  You should see some of my other patterns.. but you probably will b/c they will make their way into more still life's to come!  Like I said.. I could do this for a long time..  Thinking about just doing some little coffee mug ones.. maybe with steam coming out from coffee..  and I'm thinking of throwing in a lit candle.. my mind races with ideas as I go to sleep each night..

But now... I'm on to a new painting..  going to start sketching it out today..  My husband regularyly travels to Africa.. so it will be a giant landscape (24x30 or more size) .. think I'm going to add some of my African masks in there too..  it wil be a new and fun challenge for me..

after that.. a still life again, another statue from that fountain..  I can't paint fast enough sometimes!

Gallery...  How intimidating.. I wouldn't have a clue how to even go about this especially here..   There is a craft fair on base in the fall.. I'm thinking about getting a collection together and gather up some courage for that..

Thanks again!!!

Thanks Norm.. I love it too.. this is why I have an INSANE amount of it..  Seriously.. I'm a polish pottery addict..  I should go to therapy for it!!!  I think I'll go into withdrawal when we move back to the states from my Poland trips..  one year left.. going to go as many times as I can!!!  woo hoo!!

Heather
You have really established a unique style of your own. The paintings are  absolutely beautiful.  I think this is your best one yet.

Thanks Deep, Jan and Claude!!!

A second look, Claude??..  You are too nice..   I appreciate your support..  YOU are the one that suggested I make this a signature series.. and got me really thinking about it...  So for that..  Thanks..  many many more Polish still life's to come..  and more statues and fountains too..  I'll have a couple of series going on..

Trying now to do a huge African landscape painting..  it will be a challenge.. wish me luck!
